Our Efforts

Agriculture has played a long and important role in the history of Hawaii. For decades it was the principal engine driving the economy of the islands, and today retains an important place in communities across the state. HCIA’s aim is to add to that legacy, and assist Hawaii farmers in growing the future of worldwide agriculture.

Advocacy

We engage in advocacy efforts to promote public policies that advance modern farming in Hawaii, build strategic alliances with like-minded organizations and foster greater public awareness of agricultural issues. We advocate for Hawaii’s farmers and ranchers, speaking out on issues of concern that could affect one’s right to operate. From grassroots to grass-tops, we strive to be that voice for agriculture and technology for Hawaii’s future generations.

Education

We believe that education is the key to understanding. Our role is to not only demonstrate the value and importance of Hawaii’s seed industry to consumers and the agricultural community but also increase awareness of the science behind it. The education of our members and their employees is also important, as we develop and implement programs that promote professional development and encourage fellowship.

Collaboration

Our efforts also focus on developing and maintaining positive working relationships with professional organizations not only within the agricultural industry but also within the tourism, education, retail and food and beverage industries.

Communication
